How difficult is it to be a an English-speaking writer in a non-English speaking country? This week’s guest, Mari (aka M.L. Tishner), an American expat living in Germany, explains the process of self-publishing a book abroad. Her debut novel, The God Queen, releases on 22 October, 2019.

Mari has since started her YouTube channel, where she documents her adventures, and provides information and resources for writers abroad.

Bringing a dog to Germany

Mari is also a pug owner, and she brought her pug with her to Germany. She had to get clearance from a USDA-certified vet before she could take the dog with her on a flight. She tells the story of her trip with Abner, her pug.
